Waves are powerful, magnificent, and beautiful. They have the power to wash away all the debris, to cleanse, to calm, to reset.

They can also hit you unexpectedly, knock you off your feet, and make you feel like you you are fighting just to breathe.

In Hawaii, where I have found much of my peace over the years, wave is translated as nalu.

Life isn’t always easy, but as Ben Platt sings, “Tough times don’t last; tough people do.” At Nalu Psychology, we work with clients to equip them with the tools they need to get through the tough times, to heal, grow, and thrive.

Services

  • Counselling

The psychologists at Nalu use evidence-based approaches, like CBT, to help individuals improve mental health, manage stress, and develop coping skills. They provide support through therapy tailored to each person’s needs, fostering personal growth and emotional well-being. Their professional guidance aims to promote resilience and overall psychological wellness. Counselling is offered through in-person and virtual sessions.

  • Assessment

Comprehensive Behaviour Assessments thoroughly investigate behaviour and mood, and screen for disorders that include ADHD,anxiety, and depression. Cognitive and Achievement Assessments (also referred to as psycho-educational assessments), investigate learning strengths and challenges, and screen for Specific Learning Disorders (SLD). Both types of assessments are offered for children, teens, and adults.

  • Educational Support

Support includes implementing technology as an educational tool, behaviour support plans, ADHD targeted practices, autism and behaviour support through personalized social stories and social skills practice, and remedial/homework support. As needed, your psychologist will work directly with your child’s education team to ensure that support and assessment is extended beyond the walls of our office.

And it's breatakingly beautiful."
